Strange stars in f(?) gravity palatini formalism and gravitational wave echoes from them

چکیده

The compact stars are promising candidates associated with the generation of gravitational waves (GWs). In this work, we study a special type known as strange in $f(\mathcal{R})$ gravity Palatini formalism. Here consider three models viz., Starobinsky, Hu-Sawicki and Gogoi-Goswami domain MIT Bag model linear equations state (EoSs). We compute stellar structures numerically constrained parameters set probable star candidates. shows that consideration stiffer EoSs within favourable may result sufficient compactness to produce echoes GWs. Thus, have computed GWs echo frequencies characteristic times for such stars. It is found compliance experimentally obtained possible candidates, GW all range $65 - 85$ kHz.

Constraining f(R) gravity in the Palatini formalism

Although several models of f(R) theories of gravity within the Palatini approach have been studied already, the interest was concentrated on those that have an effect on the late-time evolution of the universe, by the inclusion for example of terms inversely proportional to the scalar curvature in the gravitational action. However, additional positive powers of the curvature also provide intere...

f(R) gravity theories in the Palatini Formalism constrained from strong lensing

f(R) gravity, capable of driving the late-time acceleration of the universe, is emerging as a promising alternative to dark energy. Various f(R) gravity models have been intensively tested against probes of the expansion history, including type Ia supernovae (SNIa), the cosmic microwave background (CMB) and baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO). In this paper we propose to use the statistical lens...

Probing the f (R) formalism through gravitational wave polarizations

The direct observation of gravitational waves (GW) in the near future, and the corresponding determination of the number of independent polarizations, is a powerful tool to test general relativity and alternative theories of gravity. In the present work we use the Newman-Penrose formalism to characterize GWs in quadratic gravity and in a particular class of f(R) Lagrangians. We find that both q...

The Palatini formalism for higher-curvature gravity theories

We compare the metric and the Palatini formalism to obtain the Einstein equations in the presence of higher-order curvature corrections that consist of contractions of the Riemann tensor, but not of its derivatives. We find that in general the two formalisms are not equivalent and that the set of solutions of the Palatini equations is a non-trivial subset of the solutions of the metric equation...

Surface gravity of neutron stars and strange stars

The upper bound on the value of the surface gravity, gs, for neutron stars with equations of state respecting vsound ≤ c, is derived. This bound is inversely proportional to the maximum allowable mass Mmax, and it reads gs ≤ 1.411× 10 15 (Mmax/M⊙) −1 cm s. It implies an absolute upper bound 7.4× 10 cm s if one uses the 2σ lower bound on the neutron mass measured recently in 4U1700-37, 1.9M⊙. A ...
